(HOUSTON CHRONICLE) — Three days after she set sail on the Crown Princess for Italy, Gail Olezene’s vacation took a bad turn.
“I thought I was gonna die,” the 63-year-old said.
The San Antonio resident was one of 96 passengers who fell ill to the norovirus, one of the most common cause of gastroenteritis in the developed world. Symptoms of the highly contagious virus include fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Six crew members were also affected by the illness during the 20-day trip.
