Economist, columnist, radio host and international conference speaker Jerry Robinson says on his Follow the Money Weekly program this week the Washington fight that is brewing over the debt ceiling is “unbelievably bogus.”
“I guess I have finally had it with the media driving the nation into perpetual crisis mode. Not that America shouldn’t be in crisis mode, mind you. It’s just that when the media is the one telling you what to panic about, they are almost always wrong,” he said.
He addresses the issue on the latest podcast of his program.
“In segment one, I lay out my incredulous response to the unbelievably bogus and disingenuous debt ceiling debate… Those heavily entrenched in the right-left paradigm, may want to skip this segment,” he said.
In a commentary on the issue, he said, “Now that Washington has passed trillions of dollars of new spending bills, it’s time to decide whether to pay for those items.”
Then Tom Cloud joins the program to offer an update on the precious metals market.
“Tom and I talk about the debt ceiling debate and its impact on gold. We also talk about Germany’s gold repatriation – along with an outlook on silver, platinum, and palladium,” Robinson said.
For a weekly investing tip, Jay Peroni comes to the microphone and discuss just what pays a 4.2 percent dividend, and has been rising in price.
John Bearss also offers some counsel on retirement income.
Podcast is 1:04:03.
