• Take a self-defense class so she can fight back
• Say she has a scorching sexually transmitted disease
• Carry pepper spray or mace
• Carry a knife
• Carry a personal alarm
• Carry a baseball bat, crowbar, lead pipe or 9 iron in potentially dangerous situations
• Bite a would-be rapist
• Scratch, kick and jab an attacker's weak spots, like eyes, nose and genitals
• Bring a dog with her
• Don't travel or go out at night alone. Always bring a trusted friend or partner
• Stab an attacker in the eye with her high heels
• Interlace car keys between her fingers, so she can jab an attacker's eyes
• Tell an attacker she's pregnant to evoke sympathy or remorse
• Scream and draw attention. Shout, "Call the police, I am being raped!"
• Call 9-1-1 and run like heck
