To effectively restore faith in our political system, both parties must stop thinking as “liberals” or “conservatives” and start thinking as “Americans.”
Neither party has all the answers. They must learn to stay in touch with the American people from all walks of life.
It seems when commissions are formed to come up with good ideas, they are too often composed of the “elite” of society. Business leaders, presidents, deans of universities and the like.
Where is the Little Guy in all this? Forgotten?
When decisions are to be made affecting all of us, the decision-makers should include representatives of all of us.
We, too, need to be more alert. A friend of mine says, “When you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” Enough said?
