WASHINGTON – Rock showman, humanitarian and TV host Ted Nugent, who also is a columnist for WND, says he thinks America needs to start over because of the mess that Washington has made of the nation.
He told reporters today in advance of Barack Obama's State of the Union address that if he were giving the speech, he would say, "We need to start over and review the subjects that made us different than King George."
Nugent, who was invited to accompany Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, to the Obama speech, described government in Washington as a "scam."
"The modus operandi is already established … it is all a scam," he said, noting the White House reportedly has invited illegal aliens to attend the address in support of Obama's immigration-reform proposal.
"To bring illegal aliens is an expression of the true state of the union," Nugent said.

Stockman, who has been described by Politico as "Obama's No. 1 needler," said he was excited to "have a patriot like Ted Nugent" join him for the State of the Union address.
Nugent has been critical of Obama, expressing the concern last year that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" under a second Obama term.
He has accused Obama of planning to confiscate Americans' guns and has described the president as "evil."

He recently went toe-to-toe with CNN host Piers Morgan over gun rights.
Nugent told Morgan: "First of all, I've been monitoring your gun debates. Go ahead and take it to the bank: You'll never understand. I really don't believe you'll ever grasp – you don't understand that it's a simple inanimate tool that tens of millions of American families own that have never caused a problem, never had an accident and will never commit a crime. You have these aberrations that are such a minute percentage."

Nugent made news last April for controversial comments he made during the NRA's annual members meeting in St. Louis. The support Americans subsequently gave Nugent spiked sales of a "Ted Nugent for President!" bumper sticker.
In his debut column for WND, Nugent writes about gun-control attempts: "For one free man to attempt to tell another free man what legal products he should or should not be able to own is the most gross and irresponsible bastardization of freedom I can imagine. But then again, I'm not a helpless, feckless, spineless, bloodsucking sheep waiting for direction."
To millions of rock 'n' roll lovers, Ted Nugent is a legend as a guitar-shredding showman, selling more than 40 million albums in his career and performing more than 6,400 concerts.
Nugent's music career, spanning five decades, has been featured on A & E's "Biography" and on VH1's "Behind the Music." Named Detroit's Greatest Guitar Player of All Time by readers of MLive!, Nugent performed for 55,000 Marines, sailors and families at Camp Pendleton's Rockin' the Corps, was honored to join fellow musician Toby Keith on a USO Tour of the Persian Gulf and has donated more than 6,000 concert tickets and backstage passes to individual troops stateside since 2005.
As an uncompromising advocate of constitutional rights, Nugent has conducted thousands of pro-gun, pro-freedom, pro-America interviews in major media worldwide. He has served continuously on the board of directors of the NRA since his initial election in 1995, where he consistently sets records for amassing the highest number of votes received by an individual board member.
