(WASHINGTON TIMES) A leading supporter of traditional marriage called on the chairman of the Republican National Committee Wednesday to reiterate the party’s opposition to gay marriage.

Phyllis Schlafly, president of the Eagle Forum, urged RNC president Reince Priebus to reinforce the party’s commitment to the 2012 Republican Party Platform, which endorsed traditional marriage.

“We expect all Republican officials to support the platform. The endorsement of same- sex marriage is not acceptable,” Mrs. Schlafly wrote in a letter to Mr. Priebus.
