(ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION) A slow march of Atlanta teachers, testing coordinators and school administrators accused of cheating reported to jail today after an indictment charged them with racketeering and related crimes.
The first 11 of the 35 indicted educators were booked in to the Fulton County Jail for their roles in an alleged conspiracy to falsify students’ standardized test scores. Today was the deadline set by Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard for all of the accused to turn themselves in.
They may be released from jail if they post bond amounts starting at $40,000.
