(Tri-Cities Times) April showers will bring May flowers — but what brings about the April meteor showers?
Weather permitting, this weekend will be a great time to spot meteors known as “fireballs.” These fireballs are meteors that shine more brightly than the planet Venus. During the springtime, meteor sightings pick up as much as 30 percent according to NASA.
Those who do spot the incredible sky spectacle can report their findings to the American Meteor Society (AMS), which keeps track of all meteors spotted in the sky. If a particular sighting is reported by enough people, the group can use the information to potentially track a trajectory for the object hurtling through the sky.
