The Biden chronicles

He's just a heartbeat away from the presidency.
It's hard to believe.
But it's even worse than that because the current occupant of the White House is every bit as nutty and dangerous as Joe Biden.
Nevertheless, from time to time, it's important to get some insight into the way the Bidens of the world really think.
So let's take a trip down memory lane to 2007, when he was still actively seeking the presidency himself, to learn what Joe Biden considered to be the greatest threats facing Americans.
Biden ranked air containing too much coal No. 1 on his danger list.
He ranked corn syrup No. 2.
And he ranked terrorism at No. 3.
Do I need to say any more about Joe Biden to understand no good can come from any initiative this man dreams up or supports?
If you don't believe me – or think I'm exaggerating or putting words in his mouth – I offer you're the video recording to prove it.
Comedian Bill Maher asked him the following question: "Senator Biden, forgetting about the upcoming Iowa Caucus for just a moment, which would you honestly say is more like to contribute to the death of your average American: a terrorist strike, high-fructose corn syrup, or air that has too much coal in it?"
Biden responded: "Air that has too much coal in it, corn syrup next, then a terrorist attack, but that is not to diminish in any way the fact that a terrorist attack is real. It is not an existential threat to bringing down the country, but it does have the capacity still to kill thousands of people. But hundreds of thousands of people die and their lives are shortened because of coal plants, coal-fired plants, and because of corn syrup."
Now, there are several problems with this:
Is this the dumbest thing Biden has ever said?
Of course not.
It's not even close.
Biden is a living, breathing, walking punchline.
But he and those who think like him are probably more dangerous to the American public than coal in the air, corn syrup and terrorism put together.
That's the sad reality of where we are politically in America today.
He and Barack Obama made it clear to the American people before being elected in 2008 that they wanted to increase the price of energy – and they have been very successful in that effort.
When you do that, you cause joblessness, pain and suffering for millions, less productivity, less economic growth and, worst of all, bigger and more powerful government and less liberty.
I'm not going to suggest to you that Obama and Biden are trying to kill more Americans than terrorists are. But I have to be honest and tell you that's exactly what they are doing – as well as increasing the misery of those who survive their policies.
Now, I take a backseat to no one in my hatred of terrorism and those who perpetrate it on innocent Americans.
But let's be real.
What kind of federal leadership do you have when those in charge think corn syrup is a bigger threat to the lives and liberty of Americans than terrorism is?
The answer is right in front of us: Obama and Biden.
