(EXPRESS) Experts have been unable to explain the object seen by the flight crew of an Airbus 320 as it descended towards Glasgow Airport.

The encounter happened at an altitude of 3,500 feet over the eastern suburb of Baillieston.

The pilot, who reported the collision risk as “high”, was descending in clear conditions with the sun behind when both he and the co-pilot saw a blue and yellow object looming at a range of about 100 metres. The pilots were baffled.
