(Mooresville Tribune) On the heels of a recent traveling Civil War exhibit at the Mooresville Public Library, the facility’s Special Collections curator is adding another aspect to that era of local history.

It’s an interactive online map of Civil War graves in downtown’s Willow Valley Cemetery.

Andy Poore, the curator, recently put the final touches on compiling information for the online map, which can be found on the library’s Digital Mooresville site. That site also offers a collection of photographs, documents, maps and images that depict the history of Mooresville from the earliest images to the present.

The Willow Valley Civil War ArcGIS map pinpoints graves of Confederate soldiers in Willow Valley Cemetery and allows viewers to click or zoom in on a green push-pin to see information about each solider buried there.
