(Cleveland Plain Dealer) Remembering the slaying of students at Kent State University in 1970 during a Vietnam War protest took on an added dimension this weekend, 43 years after the tragedy.

Saturday was the formal dedication of the May 4 Visitors Center in Taylor Hall, which tells the story of the 1970 events in a vivid multi-media presentation.

Later in the afternoon, Gwen Ifill, co-anchor of the PBS Newshour and moderator of Washington Week, led a panel discussion on the place of May 4th and the Visitors Center in history.

In the evening filmmaker Oliver Stone was to reflect on the theme of history and memory in film.
