FOLLOW THE MONEY

The decline of the global stock market

Exclusive: Jerry Robinson reveals cardinal rule against losing money

The first thing an investor needs to know is how not to lose money.

That’s according to economist, columnist, radio host and international conference speaker Jerry Robinson, who recounts on his “Follow the Money Weekly” program this week his agreement with Warren Buffett’s No. 1 rule of investing.

“‘Don’t lose money,’” Robinson quotes. “His No. 2 rule is ‘See Rule No. 1.’”

Robinson talks this week about stock investing strategies and secrets that have proven effective for FTMDaily for more than 15 years.

He said stop loss orders are a big help, and he routinely sets a threshold for loss of 8 percent before action is taken.

“Choose your own personal threshold for losses, but I strongly advise that you keep it below 10 percent at all times,” he said.

Robinson also talks about the dip in stock markets globally.

Other topics include the Vatican Bank, Social Security, real estate and global monetary easing.

In addition, Tom Cloud comes aboard the program with his precious metals market update, noting gold was up 2 percent recently.

And certified financial planner Jay Peroni talks about the increase of seniors in the U.S. population. He said demographic forecasts suggest that seniors are expected to be more than 25 percent of population in the U.S. by 2022.

John Bearss also explains how to use insurance to provide protection.

“It may be an unpopular subject, but improper insurance is often the cause of avoidable bankruptcies,” he said.
