(NEWS.com.au) — IF YOU think airlines offer pitiful legroom room now, be warned – the seats are set to shrink even further on the planes of the future.

A prototype of the aircraft that will rival aircraft giants Boeing and Airbus, Bombardier’s CSeries, is being officially unveiled today near Montreal.

The largest variant of the plane, the CSeries 300, will fit up to 160 passengers.

It will have a seat pitch – the distance from a certain point on one chair to the same point on the chair in front – of 28 inches (71 centimetres).
