(ABC.NET.AU) — Samoa Air, the world's first airline to charge people according to their weight, is set to introduce an 'XL class' to cater for bigger passengers.
The airline is modifying its aircraft to cater for people who weigh more than 130 kilograms.
Samoa Air chief executive Chris Langton has told Pacific Beat the company has modified one of the rows in the aircraft and added a ramp for easier access.
"Once you're up around that sort of [weight] ... a traditional seat on any airline is going to be uncomfortable," he said.
