(TELEGRAPH) — I’ve been pondering what Hillary Clinton said about her fervent hope that a woman makes it to the Oval Office in her lifetime.
Poor Hillary. She doesn’t even have to open her mouth these days to prompt speculation about a 2016 presidential run. But when she does let something slip, to comment on anything more politically topical than the position of the jetstream, the excitement knows no bounds.
Consequently there has been much hyperactivity about her comments in Toronto to a supposedly ‘private’ audience over the weekend: “Hypothetically speaking, I really do hope that we have a woman president in my lifetime. And whether it’s next time or the next time after that, it really depends on women stepping up and subjecting themselves to the political process, which is very difficult.”
