(The Hill) Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) says he would seriously consider voting to impeach President Obama if the administration escalates U.S. involvement in Syria without asking for congressional approval.

Jones, a critic of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who voted to impeach President George W. Bush, pointed out that the Constitution requires Congress to approve sending U.S. soldiers into combat.

Asked if he would back an impeachment measure if Obama commits U.S. boots on the ground, Jones said, “I think it is a strong possibility.”
