Re: "House GOP: NSA 'lockbox' stopped dozens of plots"
Rep. Mike Rogers is not a friend of the Bill of Rights, and he loves Big Brother.
Rogers led the charge on warrant-less roving domestic or foreign wiretaps that have led to a sweep-it-all-up and store-it policy. Rogers has been a reliable vote for extensions of the Patriot Act and FISA. He endorsed NDAA indefinite detention of U.S. citizens on American soil without a charge, warrant or right to counsel. He co-sponsored the despotic CISPA, which would basically put the feds in charge of the Internet.
If Rogers cannot be trusted with our Constitution, why should We the People believe him at all?
In his defense of the constitutionally indefensible, Rogers is just a symptom of a government run amok over the rights of the people.
So many in the federal sphere are like cagey adolescents incapable of telling the truth whenever that truth would expose their mistakes or their ineptness, madness, malice or evil.
Is it too much to ask our government from the top down that they be honest with the people? Do those folks even know what honesty is anymore?
This is not a government of the people, by the people and for the people. This is a government of liars and megalomaniacs with an oppressive agenda that works for their own benefit and the benefit of their cronies and money givers. When outed for what they are, they scurry to the next dark lie and the next dark deed. They deserve no trust or confidence, only the opportunity to be booted out of office or impeached.
