(ORLANDO SENTINEL) SANFORD — Jurors in the George Zimmerman trial this morning heard testimony from an expert on gunshot wounds, who said the evidence suggests 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was on top of Zimmerman when the teen was shot.
Court is currently in recess for lunch. The state will cross examine the defense expert, Dr. Vincent Di Maio, at 1:30 p.m.
Di Maio, a forensic pathologist, was the only witness to testify for jurors this morning. A former chief medical examiner in Texas, Di Maio testified he’s been published more than 80 times in peer-reviewed articles and has written four books, including one on gunshot wounds, a particular focus of his.
