I just read Dr. Gina Loudon’s article about Trayvon Martin’s mom telling the urban league to use her story and that they can’t let anymore 17 year olds die from gun violence.

How many 17 year olds have died across the U.S. from being shot since Trayvon Martin’s death?

How many and in what cities?

I can tell you here in Florida – Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami – it’s an almost everyday thing.

How many are white-on-white, white-on-black and black-on-white crimes?

I think I read the statistics to be 94 percent of black shootings are black on black.

I do feel for their loss. Any parent would. But they are ignoring the reality of what is happening in the streets of our cities every day. Give us a break! They know what goes on in their own neighborhoods.

If more states had “Stand Your Ground” or castle doctrines and everybody carried a concealed weapon, then it would be very well understood you just don’t attack anybody, and crime would plummet.

What percentage of today’s gun violence is in cities where guns are illegal to carry?

Like New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Los Angeles, etc.
