Sarah Palin expressed the outrage of many when she let fly with her opinion of the U.S. Senate’s recently passed amnesty bill, aiming her most vitriolic comment at Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
Giving voice to the sentiment of many in his conservative base who feel betrayed by his embrace of the highly unpopular legislation, she alluded to the price paid biblical traitor Judas Iscariot in her tweet, “‘Obama Calls Rubio to Congratulate Him on Immigration Reform’ http://shar.es/xLWXm … Hope it was worth 30 pieces of silver.”
After learning that President Obama personally called Rubio to congratulate him, one tweeter chirped: “I think it might finally be sinking in to Rubio that Obama used him like a cheap hooker”
And this from another tweeter, after a photo showing Rubio being hugged by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “Apparently Rubio does not remember how he was elected. By showing pictures of Charley Crist hugging Obama.”
And this tweet, representing the view of more than two-thirds of Americans and nine out of every 10 Republicans opposed to making legalized immigrants eligible for government benefits before they become citizens: “Rubio must be so proud to have Obama call to congratulate him on his POS #amnesty bill. SELL OUT.”
Twitter aggregator Twitchy reports that actor and Capital One ad spokesman Alec Baldwin went on a Twitter rampage, referring to a reporter as a “toxic little queen,” among other things, before deleting his entire Twitter account. This, while a real cooking queen was lambasted over a hot spit for a politically incorrect comment she made 25 years ago.
Tweeters noted the double standard: “Now we wait to see if the double standard rule applies. Alec Baldwin should get the Paula Deen treatment. Let’s see if that happens.”
Meanwhile, a laundry list of companies have dumped Deen: “MORE PAULA DEEN DUMPS: Total Deals Lost So Far: Sears Kmart Target Novo Nordisk Wal-Mart Smithfield Caesars Home Depot Food Network.”

Citing ‘hate speech’, advertisers pull ads on Facebook
About a month ago, it was reported that Facebook would step up its efforts to “keep hate speech off its pages” after receiving complaints that such content encouraged violence against women. Some companies pulled their paid advertisements because of the offensive content. Among them – Nissan Motor Co.’s U.K. unit and lender Nationwide Building Society.
Facebook reacted with a statement vowing to review its guidelines for evaluating content that may violate its standards and update employee training for those who review hate speech reports.

“We also save searches, but again, not in a personally identifiable way, as we do not store IP addresses or unique user agent strings,” the company’s CEO told CNBC in an interview. “We use aggregate, non-personal search data to improve things like misspellings. … If you turn redirects off in the settings and you don’t either turn POST on or use our encrypted site, then your search could leak to sites you click on. Yet as explained above, this does not happen by default.”
