A radio host who has been hailed as the “liberal Rush Limbaugh” used the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to accuse “a bloodthirsty son of a b-tch named Dick Cheney” of shooting down United Airlines Flight 93 and killing 40 passengers and crew members on board.

Self-syndicated talk host Mike Malloy – a former CNN news writer who describes himself as a “traditional liberal Democrat doing his part to return the Democratic Party to its liberal roots” – declared:

And that disappearing jetliner and all the disappearing bodies at the Pentagon, right? I’m sorry, I’m just no – and – in Pennsylvania? The conventional wisdom being that oh yeah, well the passengers tried to overtake or overcome the hijackers and everything crashed, when, in fact, I think even a cursory examination of that crash site, as spread out as it was, would indicate that that plane was shot down by a bloodthirsty, orders from a bloodthirsty son of a bitch named Dick Cheney!

In reality, Muslim terrorists hijacked Flight 93, which had been traveling from Newark to San Francisco, likely planning to crash the plane into the White House or Capitol.

After learning of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Todd Beamer rallied the 33 passengers and seven crew members of Flight 93 when he declared, “Let’s roll,” after which they rushed the aisle to try to overpower the hijackers.

According to the 9/11 Commission, the terrorists crashed the plane in Pennsylvania as passengers revolted. If it hadn’t been for the actions of the passengers and crew members, as many as 5,000 people around the U.S. Capitol might have lost their lives.

Malloy also made national headlines in 2011 when he suggested SEAL Team Six should attack the president:

All the death in Iraq was not caused by bin Laden. The death in Iraq was caused by George W. Bush. Five thousand Americans, tens of thousands permanently damaged and shot to pieces, a million Iraqis dead – that wasn’t bin Laden. That was George Bush. So when does SEAL Unit Six [sic], or whatever it’s called, drop in on George Bush? Bush was responsible for a lot more death, innocent death, than bin Laden.
