Obama masterminds 'Operation Shuck and Jive'

Rush Limbaugh continued to blast President Obama’s determination to attack Syria, nicknaming his proposed intervention “Operation Shuck & Jive.”

“That’s what I’m going to name it,” Limbaugh declared, noting that it was a play on “Operation Shock & Awe,” the nickname given to President Bush’s invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Limbaugh also noted that the White House, along with pro-invasion voices on the left, have suddenly changed their minds about the reason America supposedly needs to interfere in the Syrian civil war.

“It used to be ‘for the children,'” Limbaugh noted, “to make sure Assad stopped being mean to his own people.
“Up until this weekend,” Limbaugh added, “I didn’t hear anything about Iran, but Iran is what it’s all about now. The leftists in various journals of exalted opinion are now pontificated on the role of Iran in all this — that invading Syria will somehow be the best way to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

“This comes as public support for this operation is lagging,” Limbaugh noted. “They think they can boost public support by bringing Iran into it, and saying it’s been about Iran the whole time … but Obama is so smart, he just didn’t tell you. That’s what they’re selling now, folks.”

Limbaugh also played a clip of Charlie Rose’s interview this morning with Bashir Assad. Through a translator, Assad challenged Rose’s assertion that overwhelming evidence demonstrated his government’s role in the use of chemical weapons against his own people.

“How can you talk about what happened if you don’t have evidence?” Assad replied. “We’re not like American officials, we’re not a social-media administration.”

Limbaugh (who has raised questions before about who was really behind the chemical weapons attack in Syria) noted, “Assad is a brute, folks. There’s nothing to recommend Bashir Assad. But for him to say, ‘We’re not like the Obama administration, we’re not the ‘social-media’ administration, we just can’t put it on Facebook and Twitter and have everyone believe it.”

Should Congress give Obama authority to attack Syria?
