I’ve written extensively over the past several weeks that we, the voters, need to be vigilant and suspicious of the current political atmosphere. I’m laboring on this point because I’m afraid that just as a dog returns to its vomit, and just as people re-involve themselves in situations or relationships they know beyond any shadow of doubt to be destructive, such is the great danger in upcoming months.
What am I talking about? I’m talking about a demagogic, political zeitgeist entrenching itself around the central nervous system of the Republican Party in such a way that any pretense of there being a difference between it and the Democratic Party is merely coincidental.
You may disagree, and I’ve certainly become a bane to faux conservatives and the Republican establishment. But that makes me no less correct. I was correct in late 2003 and in 2004 when I warned America about a threat named Obama. I was right when I warned that color-coded voting and white guilt would play a significant role in giving him title to destroy our traditions. I was right, but people didn’t listen.
I was right when I warned that Karl Rove and the Republican establishment would exert unprecedented influence and pressure to marginalize the tea party in 2010 despite the tea party’s resounding successes in that election cycle. And, I was right when I said Rove et al. would go to every extreme to ensure that We the People were not able to exercise such unified success again. I warned that Karl Rove was behind the sabotage of Herman Cain’s candidacy. Mine was one of the lone national voices saying Romney was not a viable choice.
I was right when I warned that John Boehner, Eric Cantor, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove, Reince Priebus and the Republican leadership as a whole were not our friends. I warned that Boehner was working behind the scenes to corrupt efforts to bring Obama and company to justice for Fast and Furious. Immediately after the 9/11 Benghazi murders of Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, I warned that we would not be able to count on Republican leadership to bring Obama to justice for allowing those brave Americans to be slaughtered on his direct orders. I argued that he had the power to deploy help that would have saved their lives but instead refused their repeated pleas for help.
I warned that Boehner was not working in the interest of We the People during the first debt-ceiling debacle. I warned that Boehner, Rove, Cantor, Sessions, McConnell, McCain and others were secretly working to secure full funding for Obamacare. I warned that Ted Cruz and the tea party would be made the scapegoats and accused of being responsible for shutting down the government and harming the Republican Party as soon as the so-called Republican leadership was able to find a soft place to crash when they caved in on funding for Obamacare and the debt-ceiling talks.
I have been ridiculed for saying the unpopular. I have been ridiculed for not being an ideologue. I have been ridiculed for being a card-carrying Republican who dares to expose the treachery of the party’s leadership and who dares to advocate empowering We the People, not party hierarchy. But the fact remains that my track record of being correct is documented and unimpeachable.
Now, I’m sounding the warning again that Republicans, led by Rove and his white marker board, are going to launch a full frontal assault on We the People pursuant to why we should trust them and support them as we head into 2014. We will hear explanations, denials and promises for a great tomorrow that can only come if we do exactly as they say.
The American people have been awakened just as they were in 2010. Over a million bikers demonstrated in D.C. Truckers and veterans protested in D.C.
The media have refused to report on same. Even Fox News spent considerable broadcast time reporting on (and for the most part defending) the Marxist hoodlums calling themselves Occupy Wall Street, who defecated in public and reduced a public area to a zone of filth and refuse. But this same Fox News has not spent a percentage of that time reporting on the bikers, truckers and veterans.
Our time is now. We must not allow those who have a proven record of dishonesty and subterfuge to re-ingratiate themselves to us with their lies and the pretense of having changed. They’re the same on the inside as they were before. Only their outward appearances have changed. And as my friend astutely observed about my past acquaintance: “If [we] couldn’t trust them before, why [on earth] would [we] trust them now?”
