It seems the revelations about the National Security Agency spy programs keep coming, raising many questions.

Are allies spying on each other? And what does it all mean to your finances?

The latter questions is addressed this week in economist, columnist, radio host and international speaker Jerry Robinson’s weekly “Follow the Money Weekly” podcast.

He notes that there have been protests on the National Mall in Washington over covert NSA surveillance operations, and Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., plans to introduce legislation that would pull in the agency’s reins.

There’s also an effort in the United Nations by Brazil and Germany to crack down on government surveillance, and there are suggestions the White House might be agreeable to “no-spy agreements.”

Meanwhile, Robinson reports that Glenn Greenwald, the journalist behind some of the stories about the NSA, is warning there is more information to be revealed, including how the U.S. government spies on its own citizens.

Robinson believes the U.S. has not yet seen the real fallout from the issue.

Meanwhile, in economic news, confidence in the U.S. dollar has been shaken, and investors across Europe are plowing money into the region.

Also on the program, Tom Cloud offers his precious metals market update.

Podcast is :51.15.
