Obama plot to steal Thanksgiving

How desperate is Barack Obama to reframe America’s debate about his health-care denial plan?

So desperate that his Organizing for Action PAC is distributing talking points to Obamacare true believers for the Thanksgiving dinner table.

That’s right.

While much of America will be honoring the national holiday designed to give thanks to God for their blessings, Obama’s paid army of propagandists and agitators are urging the faithful to pitch the “benefits” from a marketing script titled “Health Care for the Holidays.”

This week, a massive email from Organizing for America explained that at the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner tables, “people will be under the misconception that the government-designed health-payment plans are too expensive.”

“Government-designed health-payment plans”?

How about “government-designed health denial plans”?

“Too expensive”?

How about non-existent?

So what do the Obamabots suggest?

“Tell them: There are a variety of plans available in the new health insurance marketplace, so you can pick one that fits your budget. There’s also financial assistance available based on how much you make.”

“Marketplace”? That’s not a word you hear used by the Obama team. They’ve done their level best to destroy the health-care marketplace.

With new polls showing 60 percent of Americans don’t believe Obama is up to the job of president, his permanent campaigners are counting on acolytes to save the day.

“If you have family members who are uninsured, you can play a big part in helping them find coverage that works for them. It might not always seem like it, but your family listens to you. So have the talk.”

One thing they have going for them, of course, is the fact that a lot more Americans are uninsured this Thanksgiving than last year, thanks to Obamacare.

But it gets worse.

The online script hardly alludes to the massive failure of the Obamacare website. Instead it urges supporters to ask relatives to bring personal information, such as Social Security numbers to the dinner so they can use the family computer to join Obamacare after dessert.

I suppose that’s a better alternative than causing indigestion by attempting to enroll before dinner.

The script is geared toward persuading young people to get enrolled.

There are a few problems with that idea:

  • Under Obama’s leadership, America’s young people are facing unemployment at Great Depression levels. When you don’t have a job, health insurance is not a high priority.

  • Young people are the least likely to make health insurance a priority even in good times.
  • Wasn’t Obamacare sold to Americans because there were millions who couldn’t find desperately needed affordable health insurance? If Obamacare has made it available, why wouldn’t those millions be clamoring to sign up without coaxing at the Thanksgiving dinner table?
  • Obama legislation made it mandatory to cover dependents up to the age of 26. Therefore, young Americans have less need to sign up for their own plans than ever before.

But all that is beside the point.

Obama and the Democrats are now discovering what their worst critics said about their plan was true all along.

It doesn’t work.

It can’t work.

It could never work.

And now almost everyone in America knows it.

Here’s what I suggest you do at the Thanksgiving dinner table: First thank God for the blessing he has bestowed on this country and your family. Then, if you want to crack up your friends and relatives, try a few of these one-liners and gauge the reaction:

If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.

If you like your health insurance plan, you can keep your health insurance plan.

We’ll have that website fixed by the end of November.

It may evoke laughter.

It may evoke tears.

It may evoke rage.

But I guarantee it won’t evoke gratitude for all Obama has done for America, its families and our health.
