The London Guardian journalist who presented Russian-exiled National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden to the world has fled to Brazil, but he is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at an annual fundraiser in Los Angeles for the local chapter of the radical Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim Brotherhood front organization.
It would be Glenn Greenwald’s first scheduled appearance in the U.S., reports the Daily Caller, which cited an analyst who doubted U.S. authorities would prosecute the reporter if he enters the country.
Greenwald is the keynote for CAIR-LA’s “Faith in Freedom” dinner Nov. 16 in Anaheim, Calif.
He also spoke at the CAIR-NY awards dinner in May and last November addressed the CAIR-San Francisco Bay Area chapter.
He told the San Francisco group “there really is no organization with which I’d rather be spending my time, or with which I feel more at home than CAIR.”
Greenwald insisted CAIR was the victim of “malicious attacks and coordinated smear campaigns,” including from the U.S. government.
Fight back against CAIR’s attack on First Amendment by making a contribution to WND’s “Legal Defense Fund.” Donations of $25 or more entitle you to free copy of “Muslim Mafia” – the book so devastating to CAIR the group is trying to ban it.
But while CAIR touts itself as a Muslim civil rights group, federal prosecutors in 2007 named the organization an unindicted co-conspirator in a plot to fund Hamas, and more than a dozen CAIR leaders have been charged or convicted of terrorism-related crimes.
Another scheduled speaker at the Nov. 16 dinner is Imam Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center.
Wahhaj, a former CAIR board member, also was a featured speaker at the national organization’s 19th annual fundraising banquet in Arlington, Va.
As WND reported, Wahhaj is on record urging a violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government, assisted by jihad warriors armed with Uzis.
He preached on one occasion: “In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it’s the obedience of Allah and his messenger – nothing personal.”
Wahhaj was the first Muslim to deliver the daily prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1991. But a little over a year later, wrote Daniel Pipes, an expert on Islam and jihad, he told an audience of Muslims in New Jersey that if only Muslims were more clever politically, they could take over the U.S. and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.
“If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. … [T]ake my word, if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us,” Wahhaj said.
FBI wiretap evidence from the Hamas-funding case in Texas showed CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad was at an October 1993 meeting of Hamas leaders and activists in Philadelphia. CAIR, according to the evidence, was born out of a need to give a “media twinkle” to the Muslim leaders’ agenda of supporting violent jihad abroad while slowly institutionalizing Islamic law in the U.S.
As WND reported in 2010, a federal judge later determined that the Justice Department provided “ample evidence” to designate CAIR as an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, affirming the Muslim group has been involved in “a conspiracy to support Hamas.”
CAIR filed suit in 2009 against former federal investigator Dave Gaubatz and his son, Chris Gaubatz, after the two carried out an undercover investigation of the Islamic group.
Evidence from the investigation was published in the WND Books expose’ “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America.” The book documents CAIR’s support of radical jihad, recounting its origin as a front group for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, the worldwide movement that has stated its intent to transform the U.S. into a Saudi-style Islamic state.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The CAIR legal attack on WND’s author is far from over. WND needs your help in supporting the defense of “Muslim Mafia” co-author P. David Gaubatz, as well as his investigator son Chris, against CAIR’s lawsuit. The book’s revelations have led to formal congressional demands for three different federal investigations of CAIR. In the meantime, however, someone has to defend these two courageous investigators who have, at great personal risk, revealed so much about this dangerous group. Although WND has procured the best First Amendment attorneys in the country for their defense, we can’t do it without your help.
