(Long Beach Press-Telegram) Super Typhoon Haiyan is being called the strongest typhoon of the year, with sustained winds of 147 mph and gusts up to 170 mph.

It started making landfall early Friday. Images coming from the region show the storm’s power and the destruction it’s already caused.

Instagram user Marcjan Maloon posted several videos from Tacloban City in the Leyte province.
