It’s official. We are now living in the post-Barack Obama world.
Yes, he is still technically the occupant of the White House.
Yes, he is still a danger to the republic and the liberty of Americans.
Yes, he is still capable of starting wars and rumors of wars that can destabilize the world and threaten the national security of the United States.
And, yes, he is still an embarrassment to what has become the overwhelming number of Americans.
But he’s finished.
I know what you are thinking: “A wounded animal can be most dangerous. After all, Farah, you just got finished saying how he remains a threat. Why are you so eager to start characterizing this as the ‘post-Obama era.’”
I’m eager for several reasons:
Obama is a lame duck and will increasingly face opposition from within his own party because of the Obamacare mess;
Obama’s poll ratings are at an all-time low – making it more difficult for him to conduct business as usual;
Even his amen-chorus in the press is beginning to see chinks in his armor – and reporting them;
And because, though I would like to see Obama impeached, convicted and thrown out of office before January 2017, it’s time to start thinking beyond Obama.
Obama is not really the problem. He is merely a symptom of the crisis in which America finds itself. The bigger problem is, to paraphrase Jimmy Carter, a spiritual malaise that hangs over the country like a dark cloud. Another problem is too many Americans are dependent on government. Another problem is too many Americans are not morally and intellectually equipped to be self-governing citizens. Another problem is there are dozens of other Obamas lined up to succeed him as a demagogue.
My point in declaring this the post-Obama era is simply to acknowledge the fact that he self-destructed. He bit off more than he could chew. He reached too far in “transforming America.” And all of this has come back to bite him on his posterior.
My second point is this happened at the height of his power and authority and popularity.
How did that happen?
I think it’s a spiritual thing.
For believers like me, we understand the spiritual world is more real than the physical, material world we see, hear, touch and smell every day.
Obama is not serving the One True God.
Is that a surprise to you?
It shouldn’t be. He has trouble even saying His name. He can’t even read it in the Gettysburg Address of the Declaration of Independence. Even euphemisms like “Creator” throw him into verbal gridlock.
That he has fallen far and fast should not be a surprise to believers. We should only be wondering what took so long.
I know Obama will continue to outrage me and millions of other Americans. That won’t stop. But he will never be quite the same after being taken down several notches. He will be desperate. He will push harder than ever to accomplish his evil objectives as his time runs out. But that’s as it should be for a falling political star whose legacy has already been written.
I’ve never acknowledged him as president.
To me he has always been – and will always be – the illegal, illegitimate occupant of the White House. He’s little more than a bad, deadbeat tenant, exercising his squatter rights.
But it’s coming to an end. At the latest it will be Jan. 20, 2017. But it could be sooner. There’s more talk about impeachment than ever before in his time in office. His own party is running away from him. If there were any serious opposition from a Republican Party, he would be gone already. If there were a true watchdog press, he would never have been elected in the first place – legally or illegally.
