(New York Daily News) School administrators who suspended a 6-year-old boy for kissing a fellow student have reduced his offense from sexual harassment to misconduct.

Officials caved to criticism they had overreacted Wednesday — hours after the mother of the girl who was kissed spoke out, saying Hunter Yelton’s two-day suspension from Lincoln School of Science & Technology in Canon City, Colo. was appropriate.

“Not once but over and over … not with her permission but sneaking up on her … not without warning and consequences prior to suspension,” wrote Jade Masters-Ownbey on Facebook, who was identified as the girl’s mother by the Canon City Daily Record.
