(Chicago Daily Herald) Republican leaders are calling Thursday for Susanne Atanus to drop out of the GOP primary for the 9th congressional district following comments she made to the Daily Herald earlier this week regarding same-sex marriage, autism and her religious beliefs.

Atanus told the Daily Herald that God is angry because of same-sex marriage, abortions, civil unions and gay rights. She alluded to the fact that several diseases and strong weather are a result of God’s anger over those issues.

On Thursday, Atanus said she will not drop out of the primary against David Earl Williams III.
