'Not surprising' if Obama visits Iran

During a radio interview Sunday, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said he wouldn’t be surprised if President Obama visited Iran on a peace mission.
“I’ve heard rumors to that effect. And it wouldn’t surprise me,” Bolton said on Aaron Klein’s WABC Radio show tonight.
Continued Bolton: “You know, the chief negotiator with Iran, [Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs] Wendy Sherman, was also the Clinton administration’s chief negotiator with North Korea at the end of the Clinton administration.
“And it was very clear after Secretary of State Albright’s visit to Pyongyang that they hoped that they could get Clinton to North Korea before the end of his term. So it wouldn’t surprise me and it’s a reflection of the approach of the Obama administration overall.
“I have called this Geneva agreement with Iran if not the equivalent of Munich in 1938, certainly right up there in second place.”
The White House in early December denied a report in a Kuwaiti newspaper quoting an unnamed official claiming Obama was planning an historic trip to Iran in 2014.
Bolton, meanwhile, blasted the deal between Iran and the U.S. and Western powers as “delusional” and “dangerous.”
He stated, “The idea is that if you give in to Iran on critical aspects like legitimizing their uranium enrichment program then somehow that will solve the threat of their overall nuclear weapons efforts. It’s delusional and I think dangerous for the United States and its friends in the region, both Israel and friendly Arab states.
“And given Iran’s support for international terrorism over the years, dangerous around the world,” Bolton told Klein.
