(Palm Beach Post) For true connoisseurs, the difference between kosher deli-style brisket and Texas barbecue brisket is as dramatic as the difference between a bagel and a bun.
But never mind such epicurean details. In the eyes of the law, brisket is brisket.
In a ruling that will give barbecue brisket-lovers one less outlet for their carnivorous pleasure, Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Timothy McCarthy has ordered Boca Shorty’s to stop serving brisket. Ben’s of Boca, the judge ruled, has the exclusive right to serve the special cut of beef in the suburban Boca Raton shopping center the two restaurants share.
