(DigitalJournal) Activists are rallying around a California man who will begin a hunger strike on May 13th in the hopes of forcing the government to begin dialogue about police brutality, releasing political prisoners, and its treatment of immigrants.

James Cosner holds a Master’s degree and was a college professor for seven years in California. He is also a human rights activist that is coordinating with other activists via the Campaign For Justice to bring pressure on the U.S. government to act on specific issues. Digital Journal spoke with Mr. Cosner and asked why he was beginning this course of action.
