New evidence released concerning the White House and its role in hiding specific emails by Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes discussing the Benghazi attacks is sure to deliver real answers concerning the four Americans who tragically lost their lives in Benghazi.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., selected by Speaker Boehner to chair the Benghazi select committee, possesses evidence that the Obama administration deliberately withheld certain documents from Congress. Gowdy called for such a committee that crosses jurisdictional boundaries of all government departments involved and possesses the power to subpoena – and now he’s leading the charge.

And the White House is gasping.

As Gowdy says in response to Obama’s comments on Ukraine that eerily resound Republican Benghazi talking points coupled with Jay Carney’s flip-flop on a Benghazi memo, “They’ve been gasping a lot this week.”

Gowdy is outspoken, blunt and utterly committed to American law. He backs down from no one, not even the POTUS. He couldn’t care less about political pandering, political careers, or political titles. Gowdy intensely cares about two things: exposing the truth and upholding the law – ironically, the two areas in which the U.S. government has intentionally done otherwise in many areas, but particularly as it pertains to the Benghazi investigation.

A former federal prosecutor and member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Gowdy is on a real mission to make certain that the Benghazi posse of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, John Kerry and Jay Carney own up to their involvement in covering up the actual facts of Benghazi: namely that U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty lost their lives because of a rogue administration and not due to a spontaneous protest by Islamic extremists over a video ridiculing Muhammad.

By leading the select committee – whose creation is almost certain to pass in the Republican-controlled House as early as this week – Rep. Gowdy could wield subpoena powers and unleash his drive for truth and justice upon these perpetrators of deceit and death. Gowdy is so committed to uncovering the truthfulness of Benghazi that whether or not he received an appointment to the select committee, he was determined to do everything in his power to cooperate with the committee and uncover the truth. In a FOX interview prior to his appointment to lead the committee, Gowdy told Greta Van Susteren, “I will volunteer to be a summer intern” in order to keep the promise to the victims’ families to acquire for them the truth they deserve.

As we know, a day after our men were beaten and killed, Obama skipped his intelligence briefing altogether before jetting to Vegas to attend a re-election fundraising dinner. For 20 months thereafter, the White House stammered and stalled about the circumstances leading up to the deaths and perpetually lied to the American people. Hillary Clinton lied to Woods’ father, claiming that the our incompetent, treasonous government would “make sure that the person who made that film is arrested and prosecuted.” Former United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice offered a plethora of scripted responses downplaying planned Islamic terrorism, and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney repeatedly stumped for the administration during press conferences, often fumbling through his mixed bag of sorry excuses.

It’s worth noting that before taking over as secretary of state, John Kerry stated, “From the very beginning of the Benghazi events, every member of this Committee has shared with the president and Secretary Clinton our determination to get all of the facts about what happened and why in Benghazi.”

I think Rep. Gowdy’s subpoena can handle that, don’t you?

Hillary Clinton should be next on the subpoena list. Of course, she might feign another concussion – although she wouldn’t be able to blame it on the woman who missed hitting her when she threw a shoe at Hillary during her speech at Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.

Naturally, Gowdy has encountered critics who oppose the select committee – and all happen to be Democrats. House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., urges Democrats to vote no. House Intelligence Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., called for a boycott, saying the committee is “a colossal waste of time.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Benghazi talk is a “diversion.” When the newly disclosed emails came to light, she replied – or better yet, gasped – “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi … why aren’t we talking about something else?”

Where’s POTUS on this? Remember Obama promised to “get to the bottom of Benghazi” and said that if anyone wanted to go after someone regarding Benghazi, “they should go after me.”

Gasp!

Trey Gowdy’s on it, Mr. President.
