(New York Post) — What might it take for an American general to resign over President Obama’s war policies?
Plainly this isn’t a step to be taken lightly. Carrying out orders one doesn’t agree with comes with the job of military officer, and it’s no different between a general and his commander-in-chief. To resign over a simple difference of opinion would be self-indulgence.
Still, resignation has its place. For a general asked to sign on to something he regards as dishonest, corrupt or reckless, it may be the only honorable option.
