Mr. Buchanan, I propose that a break-up of “The Union” is exactly what is needed ["America: No longer 1 nation, 1 people"].

Our nation is deeply divided, with the political “class” being its own insulated and oblivious enclave – one most citizens would be far better without (and not just at the federal level, as many state governments mimic the federal malignancy). A break-up, with some that would certainly try to re-establish a constitutional republic based on the original founding documents, is desperately needed. Many lessons have been hard won by the debasement and erosion of our republic, and these could be incorporated into these fledgling new republics. This is certainly a daunting task, for a great deal of case law must be cast aside, as countless bad decisions and precedents have contributed immensely to the current perversion of the republic. This is a great job for libertarian-minded historians and philosophers.

Again, I put it to you that a break-up would be the best thing that could happen to this country, as there is no reforming this corrupt leviathan – break it down.
