Israel is like no other country in the world in so many ways.
No other country was resurrected from the dead after nearly 2,000 years.
No other country has a national language that was also brought back from the dead.
No other country in the world is so hated by its neighbors and the rest of the world just for existing.
And no other country in the world is attacked by rockets and missiles on a daily basis by neighbors it could vanquish in a matter of hours.
TRENDING: To DEI for
It's that last distinction I want to bring home to you today.
But I don't expect you to believe me. Instead, I want to tell you about an app you can download for free that will demonstrate what I'm saying.
Imagine if every day your country was attacked by rockets and missiles by one of its neighbors: How long would your country – no matter which one it might be – put up with that? Would it be days, weeks, months? Israel has put up with it for decades.
If Israel desired, it could put an end to this violence against its citizenry within hours. It has the military might to do it – with finality.
But it doesn't. Because Israel wants to get along with its neighbors. It's just that simple.
Even more astonishing is the fact that most nations in the world blame Israel for the conflict with its neighbors. All over the world, people are organizing boycotts and divestment campaigns against the Jewish state, claiming it is somehow an oppressor of its Arab neighbors – even though all Israel has done is to provide these neighbors with an opportunity to live in peace under a more than generous autonomy plan.
Israel's reward for that beneficence has been a relentless, unceasing campaign of murderous, terrorist violence few in the world understand.
And that's where this iPhone app comes in.
I want you to download it for free on your iPhone to see for yourself what it's like living in Israel, which is bombarded daily, multiple times, by rockets and missiles. I'm not telling you to do this because there is any benefit to me or WND if you do it. I just want to give you a vicarious glimpse into what it's like living in Israel.
It's truly unbelievable. You have to see it to believe it.
As I am writing this, the app is going off every few minutes, indicating another rocket or missile assault on Israeli sovereign land.
These days, most of the attacks come from Gaza – from Hamas-controlled territory Israel gave away even forcibly uprooting vibrant Jewish communities there to appease these murderers.
It obviously did not work out as Israel had hoped. That's why, for what it's worth, I opposed the move by Israel. I knew it wouldn't work. It was a huge miscalculation. But it was done to appease not only Palestinian Arabs, but the leadership of the U.S. and many other nations.
The app comes in handy for Israeli citizens living in the southern part of the country most vulnerable to attack. That's who it was designed to serve. But you can use this app anywhere on the planet to monitor the latest air raid warnings.
Depending on their distance from Gaza, residents of southern Israel have as little as 15 seconds to run for cover when one of these alerts goes off. Think about that as you get them from the app. What would you do if you had to live under this kind of threat daily? Do any other citizens of the world have to face such attacks every day?
By the way, this iPhone app was set up by a 13-year-old Beersheba resident named Lion Bar. While kids in Hamas-stan are learning how to build rockets to fire on Israel, Israeli kids are devising high-tech warning devices like this. It's quite a contrast.
