Rabbi Jonathan Cahn's runaway bestseller "The Harbinger" has been gaining the attention of America's top lawmakers.
At a recent event on Capitol Hill commemorating George Washington's prayer meeting after his inauguration, Cahn spoke to a hall filled with government officials, members of Congress including Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., justices and other influential citizens.
Cahn issued his challenge to the attendees by referencing Washington's address and his warning that the new nation could not expect to prosper if it forgot God: "The propitious smile of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself hath ordained."
Cahn said, "We stand tonight on Capitol Hill, in the city named after the one who gave that prophetic warning, to ask, can a nation drive out the name of God from its public square, and the Word of God from its schools and the ways of God from its culture and still expect the smiles of God to shine upon it?

"Can the blood of 50 million unborn children cry out to heaven from this land and the smiles of heaven still remain?
"Members of Congress, can a government call evil good and good evil and forge laws that war against the laws of the Almighty and the smiles of heaven still remain?
"Supreme Court justices, can you strike down the statutes of the Almighty and overturn the judgments of the Most High and still expect the smiles of heaven to remain?
"Mr. President, can you place your left hand on the Word of God to assume your office and with your right hand sign laws which break the very Word upon which you swore and still expect the smiles of heaven to remain?
"The voice of our first president cries out to us tonight and answers, no you cannot do so and still expect the smiles of heaven to remain on this land."
Speaking about reading "Harbinger," Gov. Mike Huckabee said, "If you have not read this remarkable book, it's one of the most soul-stirring, and stunning, spell-binding books I think I have ever, ever, read."

Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, has also received a copy of "The Harbinger."
In addition to the book, Cahn and WND Films released a movie called "The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment," which details how an ancient passage from Isaiah was resurrected time and time again by America's leaders following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Cahn reveals what he calls "an ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future and the collapse of the global economy."
"Before its destruction as a nation, ancient Israel received nine harbingers, prophetic omens of warning," he says. "The same nine harbingers are now manifesting in America with immediate ramifications for end-time prophecy."
The key to decoding the harbingers, he says, is found in understanding the seemingly innocuous words of Isaiah 9:10 (King James Version), what it meant to Israel and how the history seems to be repeating itself in America today.
"The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars."
These words were first uttered by leaders in Israel and in response to a limited strike by Assyria on the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali – an attack the prophet makes clear is actually part of a limited judgment by God against apostasy. It wasn't meant to destroy the nation, but to awaken it, according to most commentaries.
But, says Cahn, Israel didn't take the cue. Instead, the response from the people in Isaiah 9:10 is one of defiance. The brick buildings were toppled, but they vowed to build bigger and better. The little sycamore trees may have been uprooted, but they vowed to plant bigger and better cedars in their place.
God, speaking through Isaiah, explains what will happen as a result of their pride and arrogance and failure to heed the harbinger: Bigger and more potent attacks will follow.
Cahn raises the question about what will America's future hold.
