(National Post) An American patient infected with the Ebola virus that has killed 729 people in West Africa will be transferred from that region to the U.S. for treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta “within the next several days.”

A small private jet based in Atlanta has been dispatched to Liberia where two American aid workers contracted the disease while helping fight the outbreak. Officials say the jet is outfitted with a special, portable tent designed for transporting patients with highly infectious diseases. It can only carry one patient at a time.
