(NEW YORK POST) WASHINGTON β Hillary Clinton took the extraordinary step of calling President Obama to smooth things over after second-guessing his foreign-policy positions in a widely circulated magazine interview.
Clinton called Obama βto make sure he knows that nothing she said was an attempt to attack him, his policies, or his leadership,β according to a statement her office issued that only underscored the tense state of affairs.
Trying to lighten the tone, Clinton said she and Obama would be βhugging it outβ when the two attend the same event Wednesday on Marthaβs Vineyard.
