Cheryl Chumley, author of “Police State USA: How Orwell’s Nightmare is Becoming Our Reality,” is scheduled to appear on Gov. Mike Huckabee’s Fox News program over the weekend.
“Huckabee” airs Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
She will be discussing the situation in Ferguson, Missouri, as well as the content of her book.
Chumley has explained, “While looting has no doubt become an issue in the area, and protesters have reportedly taken on more violent tones, it has to be asked: Do police really need to dress like battleground soldiers to get the crowds into control?”
Chumley asked, “What ever happened to the old ‘serve and protect’ model and mantra of civilian policing?”
Her book outlines concerns that suggest in five years, Americans will wonder what’s happened, and in 25 years the nation will be unrecognizable.
It considers the possibility that the Constitution will be a relic, tossed on the same heap of living, breathing, ever-changing trash as the Bible.
She argues the notion of God-given rights will be replaced by government control and privacy rights will have crumbled along with Fourth Amendment guarantees that protect us from warrantless searches of home, possessions, and self.
Rep. Louie Gohmert praises “Police State USA,” writing: “Cheryl Chumley lays out clearly what is happening in this country now as has happened to countries in the past, and the consequences are clear. . . The coming signs of tyranny are all around us. Fortunately they can be stopped before it is too late.”
Published in late May, Chumley’s timely book documents that Americans live in a total surveillance society far more frightening than the one George Orwell wrote about in his work of fiction, “1984.”
It reveals how the arrival at this brave new world has been surprisingly quick-paced with most of the ideological changes occurring in the past few decades.
“Police State USA” explains how America is standing on the cusp of a police state, what led to this state – including environmental and corporate influences, as well as media spin and lies – and how Americans might overcome and recapture our freedoms, as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
It discusses everything from traffic light cameras to phone tapping, from militarized police forces to targeting specific groups of people, the government is unfettered in its desire to control the American people.
