TEL AVIV – At least one of the terrorists involved in the reported kidnapping of an Israeli soldier Friday was disguised as an Israeli Defense Forces soldier, according to informed Middle Eastern security officials speaking to WND.
The officials said early information indicates a terrorist wearing an IDF uniform approached soldiers working to decommission a tunnel inside the Gaza Strip.
The disguised terrorist asked the Israeli soldiers for help in Hebrew, drawing the troops into an ambush in which one was reportedly kidnapped.
According to the security officials, Israel is in possession of the body of one of the attackers who was wearing an IDF uniform.

It was not immediately clear whether the body belonged to a suicide bomber listed in reports as blowing himself up after approaching the Israeli troops. According to reports, the alleged suicide bomber was used as a further distraction while the kidnapping took place.
A statement from the IDF confirmed it believes one soldier was kidnapped.
"An attack was executed against IDF forces operating to decommission a tunnel. Initial indication suggests that an IDF soldier has been abducted by terrorists during the incident. The IDF is currently conducting intelligence efforts and extensive searches and in order to locate missing soldier."
The IDF identified the missing soldier as 2nd Lt. Hadar Goldin, an IDF officer. It said two other soldiers were killed in the incident.
The kidnapping took place at the start of a three-day U.S. and European brokered humanitarian ceasefire.
Besides the kidnapping, Hamas is also accused of breaking the cease-fire by launching two mortars at border communities.
The kidnapping entirely collapsed the cease-fire, leaving Israel with no choice but to continue operations inside Gaza.
Prime Minister Netanyahu's office told WND the Israeli leader spoke to Secretary of State John Kerry about Hamas' violations of the cease-fire.
According to a summary from the prime minister's office, Netanyahu told Kerry in the call: "Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip will bear the consequences of their actions and that Israel would take all necessary steps against those who call for our destruction and perpetrate terrorism against our citizens."
