Regarding “Scientific study backs intelligent design”:

The article basically states that intelligent design uniquely predicts that something will be more complex than previously thought. This is nonsense.

Evolution simply states that variations will occur (through genetic mutations or combining through interbreeding). We can observe both happening. Natural selection then determines if the variation is advantageous. Again, we can see this evolution before our eyes as bacteria evolve to become resistant to antibiotics. There is no limit to the amount of complexity, in any event, as is falsely implied.

We cannot observe the designer doing anything. Fortunately, most WND readers will not be able to repeat the argument made in the article, and just say “some expert says,” the ad verecundiam fallacy. The article does not bother to seek an opposing viewpoint from an evolutionist, and so that viewpoint is falsely represented.
