Good heavens!
This stunning – and somewhat disconcerting – photograph taken by Karen Titchener found its way onto Facebook pages last week.
It is an image of a thunderhead or cumulonimbus cloud. According to Wikipedia, cumulonimbus, from the Latin cumulus and nimbus, is a dense towering vertical cloud associated with thunderstorms and atmospheric instability, forming from water vapor carried by powerful upward air currents. The color in this photo was caused by the rays of the sun shining into the cloud. If you're a cloud gazer, or even if you're not, you'll be fascinated by the many unusual cloud shapes on this site, and this one.
Could this be the most patriotic cloud you've ever seen?

In for a surprise
Here's a switch! A Hong Kong movie theater asked its patrons to leave their cellphones ON when they entered the theater auditorium. Why? So unsuspecting moviegoers could watch this shocking Volkswagen ad that brilliantly drives home the point of just how risky it is to use mobile phones when behind the wheel. The ad was posted to YouTube last June and has racked up more than 28,113,658 views since.
Mad Over Ads produced the spot. Here are others from Mad with important messages. Be sure to watch this one. It's the definition of imagination.
Speaking of mobile phones, a device under development could soon help law enforcement catch texting drivers. The radar gun-like device detects radio frequencies coming from a vehicle when an occupant is texting, calling or transmitting data using a cell phone.

Birds of different feathers

Rap for a change
Reaching out to the younger generation in a language they'll "get," a young rapper lays it out in his latest video, "Why I Think this World Should End."
"The world is coming to an end," says Richard Williams (aka "Prince EA"), a rapper whose latest video reaches a younger generation, telling them what's needed to survive in a changing world.
TheBlaze TV's Glenn Beck aired it on his program and urged his viewers to "Please take four minutes today and watch this video. Share it with a friend."
Another of Williams' videos, "Letter to the President," posted to YouTube in 2012, is worth watching too.
Something to sing about
An amazing video taken at Camp Pendleton shows U.S. Marines at a Christian worship service singing their hearts out.
Former U.S. Rep. Allen West posted it on his website, writing, "Oh boy, this here video is surely going to send the head chucklehead of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, Mikey Weinstein, into a apoplectic state of frothing hysteria. And you can imagine that the leadership of the Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation is running about gnashing their teeth and tearing at their clothes. This video taken at Camp Pendleton shows U.S. Marines at a Christian worship service singing the upbeat Christian song, 'Days of Elijah.' And as you will see, they are very enthusiastic about the song."
All grown up
Remember the TV series "7th Heaven"? As described by IMDB website, the weekly television series, which aired from 1996 to 2007, followed the Camden family as the minister father, Reverend Eric Camden, and his stay-at-home wife Annie "dealt with the drama of having seven children, ranging from toddlers to adults with families of their own."
That was then. The kids are all grown up now, and Mom and Dad have aged a bit. Click here to see what each cast member of the popular TV series looks like now.
