When Madison Bumgarner – one of the greatest World Series pitchers of all time – carried the San Francisco Giants to victory Wednesday night, Twitter exploded in admiration for the baseball superstar.
And now Chuck Norris, America's favorite tough guy, is singing his praises, sending his congratulations to Bumgarner and his San Francisco Giants teammates for winning the World Series.
The international action movie star, martial arts legend and weekly columnist for WND.com noted Bumgarner's performance in the series and his cool demeanor afterward were said by some observers and media pundits to be "Chuck Norris-like."
"I don't know about that," said Norris. "Madison Bumgarner has certainly become a household name overnight – deservedly so. He rose to the occasion on one of the biggest sports stages and performed like a true champion. He has earned my respect for the way he handled himself under pressure on the mound and off."

That's right: Chuck Norris – the man who is rumored to have once thrown a perfect game before stepping onto the mound – is MadBum's biggest fan.
Norris, best known for playing the starring role in the television series, "Walker, Texas Ranger," has been writing a weekly column exclusively for WND since Oct. 23, 2006.
After the Giants' victory, Pittsburgh Pirates fan site, Rumbunter.com, ran the following headline: "Madison Bumgarner Elicits Chuck Norris-esque Twitter Fire."
One thing that did happen after the Giants won game seven of the World Series was that twitter erupted with their adoration for the stud Giants lefty. It made us think of the one man that can generate this much adoration. Yeah, the guy from Texas … Chuck Norris.
Chuck has to be proud of MadBum.
Has to be.
