Two St. Louis men were indicted in federal court on charges related to bomb plots on various buildings, vehicles and properties.
Orlando Baldwin, 22, and Olajuwon Davis, also 22, had been arrested in November.
"The arrests last November of these two defendants, who are members of the St. Louis Chapter of the New Black Panther Party, prevented their alleged plot to carry out violent acts during the protests in Ferguson," said William Woods, a special agent in charge at the FBI St. Louis Division, to KMOV-TV in St. Louis.
The indictment accused Baldwin and Davis of plotting several bomb attacks that would have led to the death or injury of several people.
Specifically, the indictment accused the pair of conspiracy to maliciously damage or destroy a building, vehicle and other property with explosives and with firearms purchased allegedly illegally at a Cabela's store in Missouri, the Gateway Pundit said.
If found guilty, the pair could get up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 worth of fines.
In a video released last year, Ali – the local leader of the St. Louis New Black Panther Party, the Gateway Pundit reported – invited blacks to join his group. Also in the video, he explained how to gain sovereignty as an individual.
