An acrobat who failed to properly affix her safety cord and fell 25 feet into an arena seating area said she called on God to save her during her free-fall – and He did.
A circus spectator in Houston captured the tragic fall of Vickki Garcia, a traveling performer with 17 years of experience in the rocket routine, a daredevil, high-altitude act she does with her husband, Pablo. The video shows Garcia spinning and dangling over the audience, hanging solely by her hair from a model rocket ship, and then plunging into the seating area, 25 feet below her.
Garcia, who has two sons, told ABC News she recalls slipping, and then everything went into slow-motion.

"And I said, 'Please God, save me, please God, save me,'" she said.
Garcia said she thought she properly affixed her safety cord, but did not.
"I have my safety cable," she said. "I clip my safety cable in and then I pass the loop to my husband. And as I was going into the position, I always check if my safety cable's in, but apparently I didn't clip it in far enough. The next think I remember is somebody said, 'Don't move her, don't move her.'"
Garcia said the next thing she remembers is waking at the hospital during X-rays.
Her injuries are minor, and include what she describes as "a little bruise here, a little bruise here," ABC News reported.
