Munther Omar Saleh, a college student from Queens, was arrested and charged with taking steps to bomb various targets in New York City on behalf of the terror group, ISIS.
Federal authorities had been tracking him for months, WABC reported. They found he had allegedly performed several online searches for types of building explosives, for rifles and body armor and for pressure-cooker bombs and propane knives. Police also say he researched an article entitled, "What Does Islam Say About Killing Innocent Persons?"

He was arrested a couple weeks ago and appeared in federal court over the weekend. Just-released court documents indicate investigators say he told an informant he wanted to unleash an ISIS-like jihad on the city.
Court documents indicate Saleh was allegedly "making efforts to prepare an explosive device for detonation." The police also said they watched Saleh on at least two occasions crossing George Washington Bridge in a suspicious manner, carrying a lantern and looking around – an observation that led them to believe he wanted to blow up the bridge.
Authorities further say he tweeted his support of the Garland, Texas, attacks at the "Draw Muhammad" contest, during which the two terror-tied suspects were shot and killed.
Saleh is a U.S. citizen who was taking aeronautics and electrical circuitry courses. Court documents filed by law enforcement say he's a "fervent supporter" of ISIS.
