Dick Cheney, former vice president, went on national television to tell the American public: President Obama is lying when he says the deal between the world powers and Iran will put a stop to nuclear proliferation.
To Fox News host Sean Hannity, he said Obama's claim of such is an outright "lie" and the truth is actually the opposite.
"[Obama's] sanctioned the acquisition by Iran of nuclear capability," Cheney said, Mediaite reported. "It's a matter of months until we're going to see a situation where other people feel they have to defend themselves by acquiring their own capability."

And it won't be long, he said, before the world's a more dangerous place.
"That will, in fact, I think put us closer to use – actual use of nuclear weapons than we've been at any time since Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II."
Cheney's comments came in context of discussing Obama's claim "this by a wide margin is the most definitive path by which Iran will not get a nuclear weapon," various media reported.
He added that Obama's actions will lead to strained relationships with U.S. allies in the Middle East, such as Israel and Saudi Arabia.
"He's not a man of his word. He's not a man who can be trusted," Cheney said. "And I think our allies who find their very survival at question here, there isn't any way they're going to rely upon Barack Obama for safety and security. They're going to get their own."
